If the Fantasyland chalet wasn't your style, you could board the Skyway at Tomorrowland's futuristic station to the right of Space Mountain.  The Skyway closed on November 9, 1999.

Here's the Skyway going past an RCA-sponsored Space Mountain in 1978.

Here's the Tomorrowland Skyway Station.  This picture was taken in 2001 after the ride closed and the cables and pylons were removed.  The scene at the exit of Space Mountain with the robot at the desk has a series of codes on a monitor, one of them is "FL-SK2FL" for Skyway to Fantasyland.
