Walt Disney World Tencennial Parade

The Magic Kingdom celebrated its 10th anniversary from October 1, 1981-September 30, 1982.  A prime time television special aired on January 21, 1982 called Kraft Salutes Walt Disney World's 10th Anniversary.  The show featured Dean Jones and Michele Lee as parents of kids played by Dana Plato and Ricky Schroeder (Disney missed the boat by not having the family car be a VW Bug).  Activities in the park included a Kids of the Kingdom stage show in Tomorrowland called Walt Disney World is Your World, which ran years beyond the 10th Anniversary in a revised format.  The song with the same name as the show was also used in the Tencennial Parade and was a recycled song from Disneyland's 25th Anniversary with different lyrics.  The song was revised again for Tokyo Disneyland.   Twice a day, there was a Main Street Birthday party show in front of the castle.

The main celebration was a new parade where each land was represented.  Main Street contributed a horse-drawn trolley streetcar with singers on board, as well as a garden gazebo with musical performers.  Frontierland had can-can dancers from the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon performing on a moveable stage.  Cinderella traveled the parade route in a glass pumpkin coach pulled by six miniature white horses.  A futuristic punk band represented Tomorrowland.  Those who missed the Tencennial once it was over had a spectacular consolation prize.  EPCOT Center opened the day after the celebration ended!

(There is a small spot at the end of the parade where my audio is poor and the lyrics are garbled.  This omission is represented by ellipses.)
